April Fool’s Day, observed each year on April 1st, is typically a lighthearted and mischievous occasion marked by good-natured pranks, hoaxes, and jokes. Large organisations frequently engage in deception, creating an atmosphere of amusement and (hopefully) harmless trickery. Sure, falling for it is annoying. It’s also amusing to see what companies come up with next. This year was no exception for e-bike companies and the larger micromobility industry in channelling their inner prankster (remember the pedal-powered popemobile?!). These are a few of the more entertaining and jovial recent announcements from the electric biking and micromobility industries.

Please send me any that you discover today so we can continue to add them to the list (contact info in my author blurb below the article).
We can get so caught up in the latest batteries or the most innovative new motors in the e-bike industry that we forget about our roots. Magnum Bikes, a well-known electric bike manufacturer, wants us to remember where we came from with the “launch” of its new human-powered electric bike.
Magnum claims the Navigator Infinite has a range of more than 100 miles (160 kilometres). I suppose “infinite” is at least 100!
Muc-Off is a bike cleaning product brand known for its various bike lubricants, among other things.
I put the company’s bike cleaners, as well as their dry and wet chain lube, through their paces.
However, the company appears to be expanding into a slightly more, err…. intimate industry.
Muc-Off wants to be there for you no matter what you’re riding with the release of personal lubricant for adult activities.
We’ve been drawn to Radio Flyer’s electric bikes recently, but perhaps it’s time to reconsider wheeled travel. Instead, Radio Flyer has announced the launch of Radio FlyAir, a new air service.
But it’s not just a Radio Flyer plane. The entire airline appears to have gotten the red waggon treatment, complete with luggage carriers and children riding through the terminal.
I doubt any company will be able to top what I consider to be the best April Fools product launch of all time: the RadFit from Rad Power Bikes.
Electric bikes have revolutionised the bike industry, and they have the potential to revolutionise the stationary exercise bike industry as well. At least, that’s what Rad’s electric stationary bike suggested.
